Troon Vineyard Collection

Troon Vineyard is located in the Applegate Valley between Grants Pass and Jacksonville, Oregon in the Rogue Valley AVA. Dick Troon planted the vineyard in 1972, making it one of the first in Southern Oregon.

Like many wineries in the Applegate Valley, Troon specializes in warm weather varieties like Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon, but they also produce rarer varieties like Tannat and Vermentino. For more information, please refer to the Troon Vineyard website.

This interview is an oral history conducted by Linfield College archivist Rachael Cristine Woody with Maggie Bowman, step-daughter of the late Dick Troon. The interview took place at Troon Vineyard’s Carlton Tasting Room on November 8, 2013 and covered the personal life of Dick Troon, the founder of Troon Vineyard.

This collection of photographs was taken during an oral history interview with Margaret Bowman conducted for the Oregon Wine History Archive in November 2013.
