Wayne Oppenheimer has been a fixture on the Oregon wine scene since moving back to the area 16 years ago. He and his wife Camille run A Great Oregon Wine Tour company, which has grown from one minivan and one driver to a fleet of vehicles and hosts. Emily Rozga grew up intrigued by wine and food, and attended Cal Poly with a focus on enology and viticulture. She initially thought she would be a winemaker, but time in the vineyard turned out to be for more appealing than time in the cellar, and she gradually moved into botany and viticulture. Today we had the opportunity to meet Anna Jesse of Forest Hills Farms and capture her story. A huge thank you Tracy Covington at the Umpqua Valley Winegrowers Association for her wonderful story about us and our recent visit to the Umpqua Valley. No one has played a bigger role in growing, shaping, and promoting the Oregon wine industry than David Adelsheim. Since the early 1970s, he has been involved in nearly every notable event, decision, committee, or lobbying effort that has shaped the industry into what it is today. Today our team was able to meet Jay Pscheidt, OSU Botanist & Plant Pathologist, who has worked at the university for the past 38 years in collaboration with the agricultural industry - including grape growers.
