Interview Summary
This video focuses on the land use planning that was an instrumental part of the development of the wine-growing region in Oregon. Due to zoning laws, the various counties had to be mapped in accordance to fertile agriculture areas. The Dundee Hills were zoned as poor farm land and were therefore zoned for housing development. Because of the involvement of David Adelsheim, David Lett, and Bill Blosser, among others, the hills were re-zoned for wine-growing and have remained so to this day. The video features interviews with David Adelsheim of Adelsheim Vineyard, Diana Lett of The Eyrie Vineyards, and Susan Sokol Blosser of Sokol Blosser Winery.
