In this interview, Barbara Doyle interviews Nick Peirano about his cafe, Nick’s Italian Cafe, an historic McMinnville restauraunt. Nick discusses how he came to Oregon, what he was doing before starting a restaurant, and how his Italian identity influenced his restaurant. Nick explains how Nick’s Italian Cafe was the first Italian restaurant in the area and how liquor laws have been impacting the food scene.
This interview was conducted November 13, 2002 at Nick’s Italian Restaurant in McMinnville by local author and historian, Barbara Doyle. This interview was collected by the Yamhill County History Museum and generously donated to the Oregon Wine History Archive.
