Interview

This interview is with Steve Bickford, John Stehlik, and Don Bickford of Mt. Hood Winery.  Topics include growing wine grapes with other fruit, the dynamic between the Oregon and Washington agricultural industries, and the place of the wine industry in Hood River.  In the interview, the men discuss dividing the various roles of running both a winery and an orchard as a family business. Much of the focus of the interview is the changing agricultural and cultural climate of Hood River. They talk about the financial reasons why grapes became a more economically viable crop than other types of fruit, such as apples.

This interview was conducted by Rachael Woody at Mt. Hood Winery on June 16, 2014.
