Veronique Drouhin is a fourth-generation winemaker from Burgundy, France. She is the current winemaker at Domaine Drouhin in Dayton, Oregon and oversees winemaking at Maison Joseph Drouhin in Burgundy.
In this interview, Drouhin discusses some of the differences and similarities in winemaking and grape growing in Oregon and Burgundy. Because there are more similarities than differences, the Drouhins have been very successful in Oregon. She finds that the different soil types have proved to be less influential and that similar climate is what allows for such a similar end product.
